The Centre offers a variety of data services which can help you to make more effective use of your data.
Our use of data
We use data that are routinely collected by business and local government organisations for social science research purposes. This is research that makes a difference: it shapes public policies and improves business and service planning; it makes voluntary bodies and other organisations more effective; and it helps inform wider society about what is really going on in modern Britain. To ensure data are used in an appropriate way all research projects we carry out must have the potential to benefit society and improve quality of life. Before, during and after use the data are kept in appropriate secure environments.
Data Analytics Innovation Vouchers
If you're looking for help using your own or other data sources on a specific project then Data Analytics Innovation Vouchers (DAIV) could allow you to work with researchers from one of our partner Universities to explore something which is of interest to your organisation. Help from our researchers may include advice on how to embed data analytics into your processes (i.e. for marketing or the management of the supply chain) or learning more about specific data analysis techniques. The DAIV scheme is part of our wider knowledge exchange activities.
Data storage and access
The Centre holds data for the purposes described above and through a partnership with the UK Data Archive holds its controlled data in a highly secure environment. The Centre is able to provide access to this and other controlled data held within the UKDA via its safe rooms as the University of Essex and University of East Anglia. If you would like to enquire about the use of these safe rooms or if you believe we may hold other data which could aid you in your research then please contact us using the form below.
